How long does stairlift installation take?

For straight staircases, we usually have stairlifts in stock and can install them within 24 hours if necessary. Curved stairlifts or custom designs may take longer, as they are built to order. 

The actual process usually takes about 1–2 hours. Curved stairlifts or models with more complex track layouts can take 3–4 hours or more, depending on staircase shape and any customisations.

Are stairlifts safe to use?

Yes. Stairlifts installed by certified engineers include multiple safety features such as seat belts, obstruction sensors, smooth start and stop functions, and emergency manual overrides. Regular servicing also ensures ongoing safety.

What happens if there’s a power cut?

Stairlifts are battery-powered with battery backup. This means that even during a power outage, you will still be able to use the stairlift for a limited number of cycles safely while the batteries last.

How often should a stairlift be serviced or maintained?

Manufacturers typically recommend servicing once a year. Annual inspection by a qualified engineer helps detect and fix wear, keep components working well, and avoid unexpected breakdowns.
